Stopping disk degeneration with light?

This study suggests that light therapy can be a “novel tool for treating” symptomatic disk degeneration. The researchers state that shining low level light of the right wavelength and intensity “is efficacious for enabling tissue repair, exerts anti-inflammatory effects, and promotes wound healing in various cells.” In this study they found this to be true with the extra cellular matrix cells of back discs. I love the ease and power of putting a pad of red and infrared light on my back while resting.
